Bye, bye Gammah. Bye, bye Gampah.

Over the weekend, we drove to Austin to say goodbye to my parents. We left Houston about ten o’clock Sunday morning on after a nice bike ride with the Bike Barn folks. Lite traffic on highway 290. No worries. Addis slept. Perrin did well, entertaining himself in his car seat better than on previous road trips. Perhaps he’s just old enough now to enjoy life in his new, travel-ready car seat. Postcards to Perrin

img_6265 This is my oldest boy, Perrin. I can’t imagine the World Wide Web world he will experience in his lifetime. Creating this blog/web site using free software online has opened up a new world for me. Very exciting. Very intimidating. While I have embraced this form of commnication, I still find it hard to “trust the cloud.” Are my daily diary entries really safe up there at Go Daddy? Who cares what I think anyway? Is online storage of pictures and videos really the way to go? If I commit to blogging, will I still write postcards? If I don’t, will I send emails directing family, friends and colleagues to a URL? How will my nieces and nephews ever develop a healthy wanderlust if they don’t collect foreign stamps steamed off the back of well-traveled hand-written cards?

Time to go write a postcard…
